Pilgrimage from Chicago to Medjugorje

Upon arrival at Dubrovnik Airport, your driver will take you to the Old City of Dubrovnik for sightseeing.

Dubrovnik: Sightseeing at the Pearl of the Adriatic. There will be a Mass celebration with your own priest at the St. Blaise Cathedral in Dubrovnik, if available. After the Mass, you will join a walking tour by a professional guide through the lovely old town and ancient cobblestone streets.

Depart for a two and a half hour drive along the beautiful Adriatic coast by private motor coach to the village of Medjugorje, meet the host families and settle into the modern and comfortable home of visionary Ivan's brother, where you will be staying for the following days.

Medjugorje: You may follow the group program or elect to be on your own. Each day, you are welcome to join in the celebration of the Eucharist and attend talks concerning our Blessed Mother's messages, with priests, visionaries, nuns and others (in the language of your choice). Visit to Cenacolo at the Hamlet of Bijakovici, where local craftsmen and artisans give testimony to Our Lady's work in their lives.

You will visit Bijakovici to see the visionaries and their homes, and to meditate at the Blue Cross Mountain. Morning climbs will be scheduled on mountain Podbrdo (Apparition Hill) and mountain Krizevac (Cross Mountain). Your guide will accompany you as you follow the same path up Apparition Hill where the young visionaries first encountered Our Lady. Contemplate, as you climb, the inspired artistry of the bronze plaques depicting each mystery of the rosary. Touch and pray before the cross that commemorates the spot where Mary appeared to the visionaries. At Cross Mountain, in 1933 the villagers built a thirty-foot cross, to commemorate the 1900th year anniversary of Christ's crucifixion.

Each evening you are welcome to join the other pilgrims and the parish community of St. James Church for the recitation of the Rosary, the celebration of the Eucharist, and prayers for the sick. On alternate evenings, you will have the opportunity to attend the Holy Hour of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament or Veneration of the Cross.

Early afternoon talks are often held in the green tents or at the rotunda or circular podium stage at the back of St. James Church. Sometimes they are scheduled in the evening and at the last minute, so always listen for the announcements after the morning and evening Mass. Changes to schedules may also be announced.

After an early breakfast, you leave by motor coach for Dubrovnik Airport.
